It wasn’t a Mississippi State football reunion, but it sure felt like it at the Mullen Family 36 Foundation Golf Classic! Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi hosted the star-studded event on Monday, April 10th. Eleven former Mississippi State football greats participated in the event, including 2016 NFL Rookie Of The Year Dak Prescott, Fletcher Cox, Johnthan Banks and Chris Jones. They were joined by other Bulldog greats Will Clark, Jonathan Papelbon and Erick Dampier. A number of other celebrities also teed it up including legendary Virginia Tech Head Football Coach Frank Beamer, Roy Oswalt, Paul Maholm, Jordan Rodgers and Peter Burns.
Presented by Title Sponsor BankPlus, the Mullen Family 36 Foundation Golf Classic was a sell-out. Twenty seven groups participated in the event and each foursome featured a celebrity golfer! Former MSU baseball star and World Long Drive Champion Jeff Flagg was stationed on the 18th hole hitting booming drives for each group that came through. The Mullen Family 36 Foundation Golf Classic raised more than $100,000! A big thank you goes out to our main golf classic sponsors: BankPlus, Golding Barge Line, Bullock Toyota and BMG.
The Mullens also want to give a special thank you to Old Waverly Golf Club and Head Professional Greg Flannagan. Old Waverly Golf Club was a wonderful host to our 135 golfers who teed it up for a great cause! We can’t thank Old Waverly GC and all of the participants enough for your support. Now in its fifth year, the Mullen Family 36 Foundation has raised close to $500,000!
